Challenge
Forty-eight hours, one bench, and a judging panel that wanted a live demonstration.
Approach
We agreed on a working demo in the first hour, then spent the rest of the time protecting it: nothing was merged that had not run on the real arm.
Solution
A three-axis arm with a camera and a small classifier running on the device, sorting mixed parts into bins in front of the judges.
